Private Shore Excursions - Seward / Kenai Peninsula / Anchorage

Seward is the embarkation and disembarkation point for most cruises from Vancouver, B.C. and Seattle. We've arranged for a wide variety of day trips that can be enjoyed pre- or post-cruise en route between Anchorage and the cruise ship terminal in Seward. Southcentral Alaska is one of the best areas of the state to explore, and we've designed our tours to make the most of the time you'll have in the area before or after your cruise. Each of them offers a relaxing and private alternative to the mass transfer options offered by the cruise companies.

Our most popular Private Shore Excursions in Seward are described below.

Redoubt Bay Lodge Bear Viewing & Natural History Tour

Redoubt Bay Lodge Bear Viewing & Natural History Tour Alaska is a land of great experiences, but none quite matches a stream with brown bears feeding on salmon. We’ve arranged for this amazing experience as a day adventure on a pristine lake by a small, comfortable lodge. Your private driver will transfer you from the Seward ship dock to Lake Hood, America’s largest floatplane base. You’ll fly 50 minutes across Cook Inlet to the Redoubt Bay Bear Sanctuary.

You’ll have lunch at Redoubt Bay Lodge, and then spend three hours in a boat viewing bears at any one of five salmon spawning streams accessible by boat from the lodge. This is one of the safest and most comfortable ways to view bears up close – from a comfortable boat on the water. You will return to Anchorage by float plane in the early evening, arriving at about 7:00 p.m. Your driver/guide will transfer you the short distance from Lake Hood to the terminal for your outbound flight, or to your Anchorage hotel.

  • Duration: 10-hours (approximately)
  • Includes: Float plane flight from Lake Hood in Anchorage to Redoubt Bay Lodge & return and a gourmet lunch at Redoubt Bay Lodge
  • Transfer with Full Day Sightseeing

Transfer with Full Day Sightseeing If you have the time, it is well worth it to take the opportunity to explore some of the sights on the Kenai Peninsula and along the highway en route to Anchorage. This private transfer between the Seward ship dock and the Anchorage International Airport or your hotel includes highlights (as schedule allows) such as the Alaska SeaLife Center, The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Alyeska Resort, Alyeska Aerial Tramway, and the Alaska Native Heritage Centre. A stop will be made for lunch (on your own) at one of several restaurants at The Hotel Alyeska including the Pond Café.

  • Duration: up to 11-hours
  • Minimum Age for Behind-the-Scenes Tour: 12-years
  • Includes: Admission to the Alaska SeaLife Center, admission to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, an aerial tramway ride up Mt. Alyeska and admission to the Alaska Native Heritage Center
  • Transfer with ATV Adventure

Transfer with ATV Adventure If you have the time and a spirit of adventure, don’t miss this opportunity! This private transfer between the Seward ship dock and the Anchorage International Airport or your hotel includes a stop at The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a stop for lunch (on your own) and an ATV adventure.

You’ll travel to the Bird Creek trail head where you will become acquainted with your ATV, safety guidelines, take a test ride before setting off on your adventure. First stop is Penguin Creek about 20 minutes up the trail. This is an excellent opportunity for pictures. Then travel up the trail to a high alpine meadow to scan the upper elevations for sheep, moose and bear. On the return, you will have the opportunity to hike to an overlook where an eagle’s nest is located and then down to a waterfall to watch spawning salmon (depending on the time of year).

  • Duration: 8-hours (approximately)
  • Minimum Age Passenger: 8-years
  • Minimum Age Driver: 16-years
  • Includes: Picnic lunch
  • Note: Disembarking guests, who have outbound flights after 7:00pm may extend this excursion to explore Anchorage, go out to dinner, etc. Please ensure about our hourly extension rates.
